3 Ingredient Light Southwest Sauce
This 3 ingredient light southwest sauce is quick and easy to make, and packs so much flavor without the extra calories. Perfect on tacos, salads, and wraps.

You guys know how I feel about sauces. It completely transforms a meal. However, many store-bought sauces can pack a ton of calories for just a couple tablespoons. This is why I love making homemade sauces. I know exactly what’s in it, it takes almost no extra time, and I almost always have the ingredients already on hand.
What You’ll Need
- Non fat plain greek yogurt: This makes the sauce thick and creamy, and even adds a few grams of protein. Light sour cream is delicious as well.
- Red salsa: Any kind you like.
- Taco seasoning: I use my homemade taco seasoning, but you can sub pre-made taco seasoning as well.
How To Make It
- Mix the taco seasoning: Often, I don’t even have to do this cause I already have some made. But if I don’t, I quickly whip up a fresh batch.
- Mix all ingredients: Measure and mix the yogurt, salsa, and taco seasoning in a small container.

Dairy Free Option
You can make this sauce dairy free by subbing a coconut yogurt, other yogurt alternative, or plant based sour cream for the greek yogurt.
Leftovers
Store extra sauce in an airtight container in the fridge up to a week. A little separation may occur, just like in yogurt when there’s a little liquid on top. Just mix quick with a spoon and it’s good to go!

This is a delicious and versatile sauce. I have used it in southwestern sweet potato bowls, breakfast wraps, and on a BLT. For my taco seasoning I used Kinder brand.

I made this for the first time tonight and really enjoyed the flavor. The nice thing is you can also make it as spicy as you like depending on the salsa you use. Very good!
