5 Ingredient Light Cilantro Lime Dressing

Jump to Recipe

This is the 5 ingredient light cilantro lime dressing of your dreams. I’ve been on the hunt to find a simple, lower calorie sauce to use on all of my Mexican style salads, quesadillas, tacos, and this is the one. It’s light, fresh, delicious, and it’s only 5 ingredients.

The inspo behind this sauce was Cafe Rio’s cilantro lime ranch, which is to DIE FOR. But let’s be honest…it’s an easy way to add a LOT of calories to your meal.

But you can’t give up sauces completely, right?? They take your meal to the next level. So let me show you how to have the best of both worlds with this 5 ingredient light cilantro lime dressing.

What You’ll Need

  • Avocado: This adds some healthy fats and creaminess, while giving the sauces a really pretty green color. Make sure your avocado is ripe, just barely soft to the touch.
  • Cilantro: No surprise here. No need to cut it up or anything since we’ll be blending, just grab a handful off the bunch and toss it in.
  • Lime: Adds just a little tang and freshness that is so dang good.
  • Non-fat plain greek yogurt: The base of the dressing. Plain greek yogurt tastes just like sour cream, in my opinion. But it’s so light and packs in some extra protein too. I always use Chobani.
  • Ranch seasoning: Just a little bit brings this all together.

The Details

  • You’ll need a food processor or blender. I use my Kitchen Aid food processor for this recipe, but I’ve made it with my regular blender as well and it turns out equally as good.
  • Add just a tiny bit of water to thin the dressing out. 3 tablespoons results in the best texture for me, but feel free to add more/less depending on how thick you want your dressing.
  • You can easily double batch this recipe if you are preparing for more than 4 people. This makes a small batch of 4 servings, using just 1/2 avocado and 1/2 lime. Use the full avocado and full lime and double the rest of the ingredients to make a larger batch.

This dressing is so good with my Crispy Chicken Tacos :) But you can throw this on really whatever you’d like. Store it in an airtight container in the fridge and use it throughout your week!

As always, let me know if you guys try this out and leave a comment/review! And let me know what you guys are up to this winter season! Are you eating all the soups and warm dishes? Or still eating ice cream like I am? Haha I swear I don’t go a single night without a whole pint of my protein ice cream…

Very good with your cilantro lime chicken bowl! I didn’t have the ranch so I did 1/2 tsp salt and about a 1/4 tsp of Tajin seasoning. We really enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing!
