Caramel Apple Protein Smoothie
This caramel apple protein smoothie is the perfect light breakfast, snack, or post-workout drink with 36 grams of protein.

With the return of the Alani Nu Witch’s Brew energy drinks (iykyk) I felt inspired to make a caramel apple flavored protein smoothie.
Like all my other smoothies, it’s super quick and easy and high in protein.
What You’ll Need
Equipment
- Blender: I use myย Vitamix.
Ingredients
- Green apple: I use granny smith apples. Can sub any kind of apple you prefer.
- Frozen banana: This adds so much creaminess. I’ve made it without the banana and I like it way more with it.
- Non fat plain greek yogurt: Or vanilla to make it extra sweet.
- Unsweetened almond milk: Or cashew milk.
- Vanilla protein powder: Make sure to use one you know and love – it does affect the tastes (more notes on protein below)
- Caramel drizzle: I use the Hershey’s one.
- Liquid caramel syrup: I use this Torani sugar free one.
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Salt: Just a tiny pinch.
- Ice: A few large cubes to thicken.
How To Make It
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately!
Protein Powder
- I’m using the Optimum Nutrition vanilla ice cream protein powder – it’s one of my all time favorite affordable powders.
- Another protein I love with great taste and super smooth texture is the iHeartmacros vanilla cream powder (use code “Pantry” for 10% off).
Tips
- Add caramel drizzle to your cup: Drizzle a little more caramel on the inside of your cup before pouring the smoothie. Optional, but fun :)
- Extra protein: If you want even more protein, sub regular milk or fat free milk for the almond milk.
- Use chilled ingredients: Refrigerate the apples and almond milk prior to making smoothie for an extra cold drink. If you donโt have time, add a few extra ice cubes.
To Make Dairy Free
Just switch out the whey protein powder with plant based or vegan. This will change the amount of protein and the texture of the smoothie, as plant-based protein powders are a bit heavier/more grainy than whey. Just use one you know and love!
