Just throw everything into the blender and you’re good to go. It’s quick, it’s easy, it’s reliable. And, of course, it’s delicious.

BASE

  • Strawberries: I like to use frozen strawberries. I buy a big bag and it will last me months!
  • Bananas: I’ve used both frozen and fresh bananas. If I use frozen, I don’t add any extra ice. If I use fresh, I will toss in a couple extra ice cubes. Another thing to keep in mind with your bananas is the ripeness will affect sweetness. I personally like a more ripe banana to make my smoothie sweeter.
  • Almond Milk: Really any nut milk will work for this smoothie, but I like the way almond milk tastes :)

POWDERS

  • Vanilla protein powder: Your protein powder makes a big difference in taste. Use one you like! An affordable whey protein I use is the Gold Standard vanilla ice cream protein powder. Whey protein also makes this smoothie very thick and creamy.
  • Powdered peanut butter: The peanut butter flavor compliments the strawberry and banana so well in this smoothie. The powdered version has less fat than traditional peanut butter and adds a bit of extra protein

Use whatever blender you’ve got to blend! My Vitamix blender is my favorite tool to make this in.

This classic strawberry banana protein smoothie is a go-to for us. It just never ever misses. Let me know if you guys try it out and leave and comment/review! I love to hear what other people like to add in their smoothies to make them the best!

Notes

If you use frozen bananas, you may not need to add the extra ice cubes.
If your smoothie isn’t blending up, you may need to add a tiny bit of water, then blend again.
You can easily make this smoothie dairy-free by using a plant based protein. However, this will change the consistency as well as the amount of protein depending on what kind you use.
