Cookies & Cream High Protein Ice Cream
This cookies & cream high protein ice cream is made in the Ninja Creami to give you 39 grams of protein for the whole pint.

What You’ll Need
Equipment
- Ninja Creami
- Creami pints: Should already come with the creami.
- Frother: Optional – I use this for mixing.
Ingredients
- 2% low fat cottage cheese
- Unsweetened almond milk: Or cashew milk.
- Vanilla protein powder: My current favorite for my protein ice cream is the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard vanilla ice cream protein.
- Sugar Free Jell-O pudding mix: I like the white chocolate one best. Vanilla works as well.
- Sweetener: I use Truvia
- Salt
- Oreo thins: I like the thins because there’s more cookie for the same calories. You can totally sub regular Oreos or whatever kind you love.
How To Make It
- Mix all ingredients: Blend cottage cheese and almond milk first in a blender, then pour into Creami pint. Add protein powder, pudding mix, sweetener, salt, and mix with the frother until smooth.
- Freeze: Place in the freezer (make sure it’s level) and freeze for a minimum of 8 hours. I usually make these the night before, but I’ve also made them first thing in the morning and had them later that night.
- Spin: Run on the “light ice cream” function, then add 1 tbsp more of milk or water and re-spin. Add 3 of the Oreo thins, run on the “mix ins” function, then crumble the remaining Oreo on top and enjoy!
Tips
- Run under hot water: When I first take my creami out of the freezer, I like to run it under hot water for a few seconds to help get rid of that outer icy layer.
- Softer ice cream: Get a softer texture by adding more milk or water before the re-spin (2-3 tbsp), or by letting it sit out longer before spinning (around 10 minutes).

What can I substitute for cottage cheese? I am allergic to dairy!
Hi Bre,
I’d try a dairy free greek yogurt (I’ve heard good things about the Kite Hill brand). Will probably be more like froyo!
SO GLAD I found this recipe!! I have a HUGE sweet tooth, and it’s been a struggle while trying to workout and hit my macro goals without having a sweet treat here and there and this was just what i needed! It tastes so good to be high protein ice cream and a couple of spoonfuls are just enough to give me my fix!
