Easy Peanut Butter Banana Protein Smoothie
This easy peanut butter banana protein smoothie is a delicious staple for post-workout, breakfast, or snack! With 37 grams of protein to help fuel your day.

I made this the other morning to share with Ty and he dubbed it his new favorite smoothie. Which is high praise coming from a guy who doesn’t love peanut butter.
This one is light enough to sit well after a workout, but contains enough proteins and fats to help me feel full for a good couple hours.
I’ve been loving the combo of regular peanut butter + powdered peanut butter to keep all the rich peanut butter flavor, while keeping fats moderate and protein high. Plus the frozen banana to make it thick and creamy. YUM.
What You’ll Need
Equipment
Ingredients
- Frozen banana: I cut my riper bananas in 1/2 and store in the freezer for smoothies like this. You’ll only need 1/2 of a small banana (frozen). Also know that the more ripe your banana, the sweeter your smoothie will be!
- Unsweetened almond milk: Or cashew milk.
- Peanut butter
- Powdered peanut butter: I like PBFit.
- Protein powder: Be sure to use a vanilla protein powder that you like the taste of! This significantly affects the taste of the smoothie. I use the Optimum Nutrition vanilla ice cream protein powder.
- Maple syrup: I use sugar free.
- Salt
- Ice: About 4-6 large cubes, depending on how thick you like your smoothie. I have an ice cube tray like this.
How To Make It
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend! I like to start with 4 ice cubes and add more if I want it thicker. My favorite blender is my Vitamix.
To Make Dairy Free
Just switch out the whey protein powder with plant based or vegan. This will change the amount of protein and the texture of the smoothie, as plant-based protein powders are a bit heavier/more grainy than whey. Just use one you know and love!
