This easy Piña Colada protein smoothie is just 5 ingredients, so easy to make, and ready in minutes. The perfect post-workout drink or snack for the summer.

You guys already know I’ve been on a big smoothie kick with the weather getting so hot here in AZ, and trust me when I say you don’t wanna miss this one.
If you’re a Piña Colada fan, it’s a must try.
What You’ll Need
Equipment
- Blender: I use my Vitamix.
Ingredients
- Frozen pineapple: I buy a big frozen bag.
- Unsweetened coconut milk: From the carton.
- Pineapple juice: Try to find 100% juice with no added sugar. I like this one.
- Coconut extract: Don’t skip! I find that the coconut milk doesn’t fully give the coconutty flavor I love, but with a touch of coconut extract? Perfection.
- Vanilla protein powder: I use the Optimum Nutrition vanilla ice cream protein powder. Make sure to use a powder you know and love as it changes the taste.
How To Make It
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately!
Tips
- Add ice: If you want a thicker smoothie, add a few ice cubes.
- Extra protein: If you want even more protein, sub regular milk or fat free milk for the almond milk.
- Liquids: Refrigerate the pineapple juice and coconut milk prior to making smoothie for an extra cold drink. If you don’t have time, add a few extra ice cubes.
To Make Dairy Free
Just switch out the whey protein powder with plant based or vegan. This will change the amount of protein and the texture of the smoothie, as plant-based protein powders are a bit heavier/more grainy than whey. Just use one you know and love!

Absolutely delicious! I didn’t have coconut extract, so I used 1/4 tsp coconut oil, and substituted unsweetened vanilla almond milk for the coconut milk. Still turned out amazing! Thank you!
Hey Bethany,
Sounds delish! Glad you were able to work with what you had! ♡
