Getting 6 New Piercings In One Day
Let me take you along my journey of getting 6 new piercings in one day. Yes, 6!! And I had no idea it would be that many going into my appointment.
This is the day after getting them done:

My Piercing Obsession
You guys, I LOVE piercings. I’ve always been drawn to beautiful piercings and the unique ways people style their ears. Before this appointment, I had 3 piercings in each of my ear lobes. I don’t have any other body jewelry besides my ears.
Finding A Piercer
I love piercings so much that I watch piercing videos on YouTube for fun. This is how I found the piercer who did my ears! As soon as I watched one of his videos, I was mesmerized. I loved his style and technique. He made every ear he pierced turn out beautiful and unique. And I loved the tiny, dainty jewelry he used.
I looked up other videos of his work and sure enough, the ears he pierced turned out just as pretty as the first ones I saw.
His name is Brian Keith Thompson, chief piercing officer of the world famous Body Electric Tattoo in Los Angeles, California.
Brian Keith Thompson (Body Electric Tattoo)
Brian has pierced multiple celebrities, Beyonce being one of the most widely known. Some others have been Christina Aguilera, Bella Thorne, and Jennifer Lawrence. I also had a hunch that one of my favorite fitness influencers from LA on Insta, Sami Clarke, had her ears done by him. When I asked him about it, sure enough, she had.
I knew if he was piercing all these celebrities, it was probably NOT cheap to see him. But just for fun, I emailed Body Electric Tattoo and asked how much it would cost to have him pierce my ears.
When they got back to me with the jewelry and piercing fees, I realized it was actually within reach. Yes, it was more than a regular local tattoo shop. But if I worked some extra shifts and saved up for a bit, I could totally do it!
I immediately told Ty we HAD TO GO. This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity that I would never forget. Plus, how cool would it be to see Sami’s piercer?!!
I booked an appointment with Brian and began working extra days to save up for the big trip. I was so excited and still get excited thinking back on how fun it was!
Appointment Day
Ty and I made it to LA and found Brian’s shop with plenty of time before my appointment. I was so anxious waiting but so excited!

What I Asked For
Brian is known for doing constellation, or curated, piercings – designing jewelry in a specific pattern or shape that compliments your personal ear anatomy. Basically, he looks at your ears and decorates them in a way that best suits you. This is what I wanted.
Curated piercings are made up of multiple piercings, so I wasn’t sure how many we were going to do. But I knew that I was traveling a long ways to see Brian and wouldn’t be able to come back anytime soon. Whatever he thought would look good, I was ready to do right then.
Brian’s Picks for My Piercings
I went into this experience with a super open mind about what piercings Brian might choose for me. I made decisions for myself about which ones I would be okay with getting and which ones I wouldn’t.
On the table:
- Any lobe piercings
- Tragus
- Helix
- Forward Helix
- Flat
- Conch/Orbital – this one I went back and forth on. I have a lot of space here so I had a feeling he might choose it and I wasn’t sure if I was for or against it. Plus this one just sounds painful. In the end, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and let this one be a possibility.
Off The Table:
These I feel just aren’t my style. I told Brian at the beginning of our appointment that I wouldn’t want any of these.
- Rook
- Daith
- Anti-tragus
- Industrial
After we went over everything I was and wasn’t okay with getting, Brian mapped out a plan of what he thought would look pretty on my ears.

For My Right Ear
- 1 lobe piercing (stacking the middle one already there)
- 1 Tragus
For My Left Ear
- 2 lobe piercings (offset with my current ones)
- 1 Conch/Orbital
- 1 Forward Helix
We originally planned to leave out 1 lobe piercing and the forward helix piercing on my right ear (to have done another time), but after explaining that I lived far away and probably wouldn’t be able to come back, Brian agreed to do them all in one day.
The craziest thing about it was after Brian went through everything he was going to do, he told me that it could all change once we were back in the piercing room. He said as he pierces, some things catch his eye and he could decide to do a different piercing than the one we planned.
Honestly, this didn’t make me nervous at all. I’d seen so much of Brian’s work before the appointment and fully trusted him. I knew that if something were to change, it would be what looks the best.
Getting Pierced

Pain Rankings
1 is the least painful –>> 10 is the most painful.
- Lobes (1): The lobes were the easiest. The closer you move up your ear, the more painful I think lobe piercings are, but all 3 of mine were more in the middle of my lobes, so they were pretty painless. Felt like someone just pinched your lobe with their fingernails.
- Tragus (2): The uncomfortable thing with this one is that it’s close to your ear canal so you can kinda hear the needle going through. But pain-wise, not bad at all.
- Conch/Orbital (5): This one wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t a complete breeze either. I was definitely expecting this one to hurt more. My adrenaline kicked in before, which probably lowered the pain, but it was definitely more pinchy than the others.
- Forward Helix (6): This one was pretty similar to the conch, but it’s ranked a 6 because it hurt the most out of all of them. The reason this one hurt more is because I breathed out before the needle went through. Usually, the piercer will count down and have you let out a big breath as they pierce. This one, I let my breath out, and didn’t have any more to let out during the actual piercing.
In the end, I learned that having a good piercer makes a world of a difference when it comes to pain. Brian was very quick and precise so I had a great experience overall.
Healing
It’s been 11 weeks since getting these 6 piercings.
Brian recommended only using CeraVe foaming facial cleanser to clean my piercings, and to not over-clean them. This has helped a ton.
The lobe piercings healed up pretty quickly, which I expected.
The conch surprised me. I was expecting it to be harder to heal, but it has given me the least trouble of all my cartilage piercings. Maybe because it’s such an open space.
The forward helix and tragus have been the most irritated, probably because they are located in trickier areas. They do better when I’m good about not touching or playing with them, but they’re definitely not healing as fast as the others.
A game changer in my healing has been getting a piercing pillow. In the past, my piercings got most irritated after tossing and turning all night, squishing them up against my pillow. With a piercing pillow, there’s a little cutout for your ear so you’re not putting any extra pressure on your fresh piercings.

Brian is legit the coolest, most personable guy ever, and I had so much fun meeting him. He’s amazing at what he does, and I am so happy with how my ears turned out.
Ty drove all the way to LA with me and we had so much fun together. It was my first time ever in California and it was so pretty where we stayed. There are so many trees and plants there! I’m not sure what I was expecting but I was picturing more…city. More of a Boston feel. And it was not like that at all. It felt very creative everywhere you went.
Anyways, getting 6 new piercings in one day was honestly one of the funnest things I’ve done. It’s always so cool to experience new things and meet new people. If you’re around the LA area you’ve got to go check out Body Electric!
And if you’ve made it to the end of this post, I just wanna thank you for being here and hanging out. I felt like I re-lived this whole experience typing this up and it was so fun all over again!

This is so cool. I’m planning on playing around with magnetic pieces to see what I like on me first. Thank you so much for sharing and also the pain level! – SS
Hi Shanetta,
Such a good idea. Of course! β‘
