Healthy Tzatziki Sauce (Low Fat)
This healthy tzatziki sauce is a wonderful light, tangy addition to your favorite Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Full of fresh dill and bright lemon juice, and only takes 10 minutes to make!

Made with plain greek yogurt, this tzatziki is a protein-packed and low calorie sauce that doesn’t skimp on flavor. Use as a dip for veggies, sauce for grilled meats, or creamy topping for your favorite wraps or bowls! Here’s everything you’ll need and how to make it.
What You’ll Need
Equipment
- Grater
- Lemon squeezer: Optional.
Ingredients
- Plain greek yogurt: I opt for non-fat, since that’s what I always have on hand. 2% or 5% is also delicious and still light.
- Cucumber
- Lemon juice
- Dill
- Garlic powder
- Salt

How To Make It
- Grate cucumber: Peel, rinse and dry cucumber and remove seeds. Grate into small strands, then use a clean paper towel to squeeze out excess water.
- Mix it all together: To a bowl, add yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, dill, garlic powder and pinch of salt. Stir until combined.
Tips
- If you like a smoother tzatziki, use 2% or 5% plain greek yogurt or add 1 tsp olive oil.
- Chill 15-20 minutes before serving to let flavors combine.
- Store tzatziki in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days. Stir before serving.
Serve With
Drizzle over grilled meats, spread on a pita wrap, or pair with crunch veggies for a healthy snack! It’s also amazing as a salad dressing or burger topping. These are my current favorites to enjoy with homemade tzatziki:

Hi. Can I use mayo instead if at the point don’t have yogurt?
Hi Petra,
Yes! Just know it will alter the flavor and texture a bit (will be less tangy).
