The Best Easy Smash Burgers
These are the best easy smash burgers that are insanely delicious and awesome for your macros. Who says you can’t have a burger every day and still look and feel your best???

The smirk and slow nod Ty gave me after trying these was all the confirmation I needed that it was a winner. These seriously could not be easier to make and you can deck them out with all your favorite veggies. Make sure to read through the post for my best tips for taking your burger to the next level.
What You’ll Need
Equipment
- Non-stick frying pan
- Burger press: Optional.
Ingredients
- 93% lean ground beef
- Seasoning of choice: I love all the Kinder’s seasonings. I used the buttery steakhouse one for these. Make sure to add salt too if your seasoning doesn’t already have it.
- Cheese: I use either the Sargento ultra thin slices or American cheese for more a fast food taste. Both are 40 calories and 3g protein per slice.
- Burger buns: I use these Dave’s killer bread buns.
- Light burger sauce: My easy light burger sauce recipe keeps these super saucy and lower calorie.
- Toppings: Pickles, tomato, lettuce, onion, etc.

How To Make Them
- Heat pan and prep meat: Heat a large non stick frying pan on medium high heat. Split the 1 lb of ground beef into 4 equal pieces, then split each piece into 2 equal halves (each burger gets 2 patties). Roll each piece into a circle.
- Cook burgers: Place beef circles onto the hot pan, then use a burger press or spatula to smash flat and thin (put a piece of parchment between the burger smasher and beef so it doesn’t stick). Immediately season with seasoning of choice. Once edges begin to brown, flip the patties and season the other side. Place cheese slice on one of the patties, then stack the other on top when they’re done so the cheese is nice and melty in the middle. Remove from heat and repeat with remaining patties.
- Assemble: Lightly toast your bun and add sauce on both sides. Add the patties and toppings of choice and enjoy!
Tips
- Don’t overcook: Since this beef is leaner, be careful not to overcook or the burger will be dry. You only need 1-2 minutes per side when flattened out very thinly on the hot pan. Just watch until the edges brown, then flip and cook for just a minute longer.
- You don’t have to make all 4: The beauty of these is I can cook one just for me or 2 if Ty’s around, or all 4 if we’ve got friends over. Adjust however you need. That way they’re fresh and you can cook another the next day with the rest of the meat.
- To serve: These are so good with some air fryer french fries and more light burger sauce.

The Best Easy Smash Burgers
These are the best easy smash burgers that are insanely delicious and awesome for your macros so you can have burgers every day.
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 lb 93% lean ground beef
- Kinder's buttery steakhouse seasoning or seasoning of choice
- 4 slices American cheese see notes
- 4 Dave's killer bread buns
- 1 batch light burger sauce
- pickles, tomato, lettuce, onion optional, for topping
- air fryer french fries optional, to serve
Instructions
- Heat a large non stick pan on medium high heat. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal pieces, then divide each piece into 2 equal halves. Roll each piece into a ball.
- Place 2 meat balls on the hot pan and use a burger smasher to flatten each into a very thin patty (put a piece of parchment between the smasher and meat so it doesn't stick). Immediately season each patty.
- Once the edges begin to brown, flip the patties and season the other side, cooking just a minute more. These will cook quickly since they're thin. Place a cheese slice on one of the patties and stack the other on top so the cheese is nice and melty in between. Remove from heat and repeat with remaining meat.
- Lightly toast buns and spread burger sauce on each side. Layer on patties, toppings of choice and enjoy immediately!
Notes
- Cheese: I like both American cheese and the ultra thin Sargento cheese slices. Both have 40 calories and 3g protein per slice.
- Don’t overcook: Since the beef is pretty lean, it can dry out if overcooked. Flatten out thin, cook until edges are brown (1-2 min), then flip and cook for about another minute. If you don’t flatten them out thin enough they may need longer.
- Single serve: If I only want to make one or two burgers, I just cook as much meat as I need and save the rest in the fridge.ย
- Light burger sauce: Each burger gets about 1 tbsp sauce (1/2 tbsp on each bun). This stuff is really light so you can use more or less if you want without changing the nutrition much.
